Attitude Concerns Continue As Conolly Combusts

By Eddy Blaxell

An improved training turnout on Thursday evening was overshadowed by the actions of Team Fyfe's youngest player.

Luke Conolly, recipient of this week's trainer of the week award for attending an incredible two training sessions, was sent from the field late in the game after abusing the referee.

The evening had started brightly for the Fyfes, Conolly appearing on time for the second time in three days, and the Blaxells finally finding Tempe Reserve only 80 minutes into training and after a solid half-hour fitness walk through the back streets of Tempe.

The three Fyfes, a 50% improvement on Tuesday's number, further impressed as training match substitutes for Team Talay, with Luke and D'Arcy overlapping well against the undermanned Team Corica defence and Eddy keeping Corica star Julio under wraps.

D'Arcy could have scored the only goal of the match for the Talays but after making his way into the box saw his shot from six yards out cleared off the line.

In the second half Eddy Blaxell moved into the centre of midfield, and with a delightful through ball played D'Arcy in for a one on one with the keeper, only to have the pass intercepted by the referee.

Continuous and contentions offside decisions were frustrating Luke "Zadkovich" Conolly throughout, and the Fyfe starlet was warned 13 minutes in for dissent.

With just minutes remaining, Conolly pushed the referee's patience and was sent from the field after showing disgust at a throw in decision.

It is incidents like this which the Fyfes will have to reduce if they're to be any chance of beating Dunbar Rovers this Sunday.
